Wondering which mode of transport to choose for reaching Mandi? Nearly all the major cities of North India are correlated with Mandi routes. So it is basically a question of your convenience and comfort as per which mode of transport to consider for reaching Mandi. Local Transport in Mandi

By Air

Mandi does not maintain any personal airport. The closest airfield to Mandi is the Bhuntar airport which is situated in Kullu. This airport is considered to be a challenging airport for airmen to land safely their planes as the only runway is situated in a valley which is environed by the peaks. Bhuntar airport is connected to Chandigarh and Delhi so passengers traveling from these two places can easily visit Mandi. Once you reach Bhuntar Airport, you can book yourself a cab, uber or any taxi and head towards Mandi. Other transports like buses and auto-rickshaws are used by many tourists to get in and out of Mandi from the Bhuntar Airport.

By Train

If you don’t prefer taking the road route then the train is the next best alternative for you. However, Mandi has no railway station of its own and the nearest railway house is situated in Joginder Nagar which is nearly 55 km away from Mandi. Currently, there are two trains that take a halt at this station. Further planning is being done to extend the Kangra Valley Railway to Mandi and finally correlate it with a new Bilaspur-Mandi-Leh railway track.

By Road

Mandi by road is one of the most suitable options when a question like how to reach Mandi comes in mind. The roads of major cities like Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana are all well connected to the city of Mandi. Regular HRTC buses are majorly observed on the connecting roads of Mandi and Delhi. If you adore natural hues and enchanting dusks then it is suggested you must consider going to Mandi by road. Chandigarh to Mandi distance is approximately 5 hours and Shimla to Mandi distance too isn’t much, many holidaymakers prefer taking the road route to reach Mandi as the journey between is beautiful and considered safe.

Ankita who was coordinating on behalf of Travel Talkies was regular with her follow-ups, although at times she was unable to assist with undesirable hotel rooms or transportation mishaps due to mechanical faults. The agency needs to ensure that alternative arrangements can be made if a hotel is not

good or unreachable due to bridge getting repaired etc. The biggest disappointment was the driver who was very non-cooperative. Although we had asked for the cab to stay with us throughout, the driver was ready to take up other passengers for Rohtang pass trip leaving us stranded as we were not willing to pay the amount he asked for the trip. Thanks to Rohit ji who sorted this but still we had to pay extra to the driver so that we could go with him. Also he made us switch to a different car and driver on the last day on way to airport as he was in a hurry to return home. He asked us to check out from Shimla hotel at 6 am in the morning for Delhi airport, whereas our flight was at 9.35 pm, stating it will take time and there would be traffic. We told that it's a Sunday and we could easily reach on time if we start at around 9 am. We still took his advice and started from Shimla before 7 am. The cab was switched in Panipat without any prior intimation, which was a risk not knowing the new driver with family and so many luggages. Then we reached the Airport 6 hrs. prior to the flight. This could have been avoided and we could have reached the airport a couple of hours prior even if we check out at 9 am. The trip experience would have been a lot better had we got a better driver. We've still given a 3 star to the driver though he deserved much less. The Hotel in Tirthan. Food and staff service in all the hotels were very good. The replacement hotel in Manali was very good. The Shimla Mall road was very good. Ankita was regular with her updates and keep checking on us, which is good.

And for Manali they said it’s a Luxury room but it was a Delux room only and had a small argument again, But other than that there response and cooperation with the guest was ok.. The only think was happened is the communication gap and there were not able to compensate my lose..

hi as there was no snow..snow was at kokser village but it was not added in my plan so i had to pay extra to travel there..she planned manikaran at the last day of my tour .so i had to go from sissu to maikaran which took almost 8 hrs and still we were not able to reach manikaran as roads were block due to traffic which is common there but she didnt gave us idea about the traffic..so we werent able to visit manikaran..she should have kept manikaran on 3rd day so that it would be of less distance to travel manikaran from manali instead of sissu..so my trip was not worthy because of improper itinerary by travel vichar agent Gitika
