For those wondering how to reach Himachal from Kolkata, the information below can help you in this regard.

Kolkata To Himachal Pradesh By Air

There are no direct flights from Kolkata to Himachal so you can take a flight from Kolkata to Chandigarh and then take a state transport bus from Chandigarh till Shimla. It takes about 3 hours to travel from Kolkata to Himachal Pradesh. The Shimla airport is about 9 kilometers from the city center and you can easily take a cab or private taxi.

Kolkata To Himachal Pradesh By Rail

If you are travelling by train from Kolkata till Himachal, there are no direct trains connecting the two destinations. You can take a train from Kolkata till the Delhi station and then hop on aboard the train to Kalka or Shimla from here. You can also travel by the scenic Kalka to Shimla toy train that takes about 5-6 hours to travel and covers a number of tunnels. This journey takes about 27 hours in total and you can cut down the travel time by taking a flight from Kolkata till Delhi and then take a train from here till Shimla.

Kolkata To Himachal Pradesh By Road

You can travel by cab or private taxi from Kolkata till Himachal and it costs about INR 5 per kilometer. There are also several private and government buses you can travel by from Kolkata until Himachal. These include Volvo A/C Multi Axle Semi-sleeper, Volvo A/C Semi-sleeper and Volvo A/C -Multi Axle Semi-sleeper. You can book these buses online on the Indian bus transport corporation website.

We went on tour to Manali & Shimla in the month of May 2024. Hotel provided at manali was good under 3 star category with best view and good food & service. However Hotel provided at Shimla was very much disappointing. Though it has good view but food & rooms were of below average quality for 3 star

category. There was leakage in bathroom and rooms were also congested making the stay uncomfortable. Cab & driver was excellent, driver was very much experienced for manali Shimla roads and very jolly in nature, made our travel comfortable. Services provided by travel triangle agent were also good, they were available at any given point of time. Thank you

At the outset, the trip went very well and I would like to thank Travel Triangle for providing a beautiful trip experience. However, I have a few bitter experiences as well such as the nexus between cab driver/ the travel agency with the activity providers who take every chance to loot the customers

and charge exorbitantly be it the case of fun or adventure activities or restauratns. Rest are all very well organized. Though Sunrise Villa in Shimla is a very nice property with a beautiful vies, A hotel near Mall Road would have been far better in Shimla.
