Shillong: A lovely trip begins

    A family trip to North East welcomes you!

    On your arrival at Guwahati airport (Assam), an agent’s representative will welcome and escort you to the hotel in Shillong (Meghalaya). En route, the fascinating Umiam Lake awaits your visit.

    Umiam Lake: A scenic reservoir, which is part of the state’s first Hydel Power Project. Kids can enjoy various water activities here, under your supervision. Some of the activities to be undertaken here include water cycling, kayaking, paddle and speed boating.

    Proceed to Shillong and register yourself at the reception and freshen up as per this Northeast trip with family. Later, enjoy a refreshing sleep at the hotel.

    Shillong: A day trip to Cherrapunjee

      Your family vacation in Northeast takes you to exotic expanses of Cherrapunjee.

      Welcome the new day with a savory morning meal and set off for a sightseeing spree to Cherrapunjee that will take you closer to Mother Nature. As this scenic town of Meghalaya is a favorite of showers, it is blessed with spectacular scenery. Have a glance at the mesmeric places that you will be visiting today –

      Nohkalikai Falls: These are the tallest plunge waterfall of India and the fourth highest on earth. The Falls have created a waterhole, which turns green in summers and blue in winters! You can also catch sight of Bangladesh from here!

      Seven Sister Falls: Also known as Nohsngithiang Falls, these are the country’s fourth highest waterfalls. Forming a seven-segmented waterfall, the Falls plunge over the top of limestone cliffs of the Khasi Hills. Watching sunset here is quite an experience.

      Mawsmai Caves: These are limestone caves that house stalactites and stalagmites in myriad shapes and sizes. The caves are lit enough to enable you delight in the nature’s artwork inside.

      Shillong: Visit Asia’s cleanest village and go trekking

        Mawlynnong Village: The village is also referred to as ‘God’s own garden’ and is the cleanest village in Asia. Drink in the abundant natural beauty from the Sky Walk, an 80 feet high "machan' or observatory.

        Double decker Root Bridge Trek: The Bridge hangs in a remote village 'Nongriat' and is 250 years old. You can reach the bridge only through trekking that includes a flight of more than 3000 steps!

        After such a happening day, return to the hotel in Shillong and tuck yourself in your beds for a relaxing night. </p.

                  This is my second time using travel triangle. First trip was to Ladakh and the second to North east. The offers made were reasonable and easy to communicate and have the itinerary planned well ahead. Princi from travel triangle and Aastha from refiy worked with me to maek this trip a success. My recent trip was with Refiy and Aastha was reaching out to ensure that we had a perfect trip planned. We stayed in 4 places off which 1 was not great but the rest were very nicely planned and executed. As a opportunity to make other travellers trip best - for Mawlynnong stay, look for homestays within the village which is really beautiful. We were given something that was 4-5 km away and was ok. Stay in Guwahati- pl do not take Hotel Rituraj, worst exp. Worse than dormitory, unclean.

                  Dear Mayukh, Thank you very much to you and your team for arranging our tour to Meghalaya - Cherpunjee , Shillong and Guwahati. We had a very comfortable touring experience, food, Stay and transit. The Places were truly exotic and all of us thoroughly enjoyed the same. Must visit places. We were unable to cover Kaziranga though. Looking forward to cover it next trip. Special Mention to our driver at Cherapunjee - Mr.Suresh, who was very accommodative and pleasing and who also was able to guide us well throughout the trip. We wish to emphasize only on certain things in the entire trip. 1. Our Stay at Hotel Pegasus Crown in Shillong - the rooms were good and in a place connected to main areas in Shillong. However we found the area around the Hotel not appropriate for "Family Stay". The Hotel seems to be not well maintained with issues in Door Locks and lack of back up power supply during our stay on a day for the whole night until we started for the next day's trip. We found it very inconvenient as we were not able to have access to the lift and our rooms were located on the 4th floor. The telephones in the rooms were also not working and we couldn't enquire with the room service/ reception as to when we might get power back. Requesting you to kindly avoid suggesting the hotel for future travellers. We were not able to understand these issues when we booked our trip as the ratings as per google were fine to us. 2. Our driver for Shillong & Guwahati Mr.Gopal - He took us to Shillong local trip on the 1st day and we enjoyed the day well. On the second day since the places covered were a bit far off, he suggested we start early i.e around 7 a.m. However he didn't pick us up until 7.30 a.m. hence there were definite delays in the trip and we had late breakfast and lunch. It was difficult for us since we were travelling with kids and the places he stopped for breakfast and lunch were already crowded with tourists. Hence we had to miss certain attractions in Shillong due to lack of time. There were also some instances of rash driving during transit from Shillong to Guwahati. Later, he heeded to our request to drive slow. 3. In Guwahati - we had planned to do local sightseeing and shopping in Guwahati. However he did not inform us of the time taken for the same and we lost time to and fro the Hotel and couldn't plan our shopping properly. But for the above, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip and look forward to associate with you for our future tours and recommend Breakbag Holidays/ Travel triangle to our friends.

                  This was a nice trip and would like to thank Swati for being proactive. Few points which can help your tourists coming to northeast. 1. Currently, to enter Meghalaya, one needs an e-invite. This can be obtained by downloading Meghalaya Tourism app and going to the e-invite option. Each and every member of the group need to be added here. One needs id proof, photograph and hotel booking of Meghalaya to complete the process. 2. Our Meghalaya hotel(Rosa Ville Bungalow) was amazing. Its a heritage property and being taken care by a nice set of people. I would highly recommend this for anyone seeking peaceful and comfortable stay. If one talks to the manager he even tells the history of the bungalow, about the family who built it. My favourite was the hallway with all the old pictures of the family members and the dining hall which is still maintained as in the colonial times. It has a lush green campus surrounded by big trees. 3. Our stay at Ginger Guwahati was okay but not very nice. The hotel upkeep is not up to the mark. Neither the service was very good.                   Jhunoo's 6 days trip to North East

                  I was skeptical about the service initially; however, the trip was well organized and executed well.. The hotels were all amazing, with great service and fantastic view. The stay in Mawlynnong was good, but the host was lil uptight, I mean he was less friendly and more of business. We were served breakfast every morning at our convenient time, which was great. The only feedback I wanna give is related to the Dawki boating, which was a complimentary ride arranged by Travel kutir. They promised for a ride, however, did not make it clear, that the ride will not be from the main Dawki point, instead he arranged the ride from another point, which was 12kms away from Dawki main point, which is actually famous for boating. We had to change that point at last minute and had to pay for one boat, since they cannot accommodate more than 3 people in single boat, and we were 4 ppl in total. We were in touch with Arvind from Travel kutir, he was all good and checked on us almost every day, however, the boating thing could have been communicated correctly in the beginning to us. Overall, I would definitely suggest and use Travel triangle for my future trips. My entire trip was amazing and I have made soooo many memories that I cannot pick the best out of it.

                  Our overall experience was good . Accommodation and food was well maintained. We are extremely disappointed by the non availability of Elephant safari in Kaziranga. We had booked this package with you 15 days prior and not sure why this was not taken care at your part, as elephant safari being the centre of attraction in Kaziranga. Coming to our travelling partner, our driver, driving experience with him was really good as we had hassle free driving day and night. We just expect a bit of hygiene in him. We also observed that he had mentioned twice about not having stay and food where we had an accommodation at Shillong and also he asked us to pay for petrol but which we did not. We believe these should be internally sorted and shouldn't be brought to the notice of the customer. Thank you for arranging a memorable trip to the North East and it was really a wonderful one.
