About Bahu Fort in Jammu

The history of Bahu Fort is as old as the history of the Jammu city. Bahu Fort, Jammu, is one of the most beautiful historical places situated on the banks of the Tawi river. The architectural style of the fort is influenced by Mughal architectural style. Sandstones and brinks are the backbones of this marvelous fort. The fort is also one of the most visited structures situated in Jammu district. It is situated at a distance of 4.1 km from the Jammu Tawi Railway and only 5 km away from the city center.

History of Bahu Fort

The history of Bahu Fort dates back to over 3000 years back when it was established by Raja Bahucholan. Later, renovations were made during the Dogra dynasty. The city is known to be named after the then king of the Dogra Dynasty, Raja Jambu Lochan. As per legends, Raja Jambu Lochan appeared at this place while hunting and got awe-struck by the beauty of the place. Years later, his brother Raja Bahucholan established the fort. The fort was rebuilt again in the year 1585. The present structure of the fort was built by Maharaja Gulab Singh.

Bahu Mela

Bahu Mela is one of the most vibrantly celebrated festivals in Jammu. Bahu Fort is the place where this festival is hosted. Best of all, it is celebrated twice in a year, i.e., during the months of March and April and September and October. Bahu Mela takes place during Navratri.

The service of Breathtaking holiday was good, the driver, Mr Imran Bhi, was really good and helpful person. Mr Aqib of Breathtaking holiday made our holiday a memorable one but that last moment an extra charge of card payment of 1100 was bit disappointment, as we clearly had a conversation with Travel triangle that if we pay the amount by card directly to BTH we don't have to pay anything extra, Aqib also confirmed us the same but in the last moment at Kashmir he asked for a charge on card ( when we pay to any hotel by card, they never take an extra charge) that was the logic that Travel triangle gave us & it obviously made sense to us. Rest the trip was good and we enjoyed a lot.

One ot 2 rooms provided was too small even for 2 persons. And we had accommodated 3 persons by paying extra so our rooms should have been much bigger and comfortable. Our driver Mr. Sahil was very good and even our travels Ozzokashmir stand and owner was good and helped us throughout . Also changed our room once but then during booking itself I had mentioned that I need better rooms. But overall I would appreciate the travels Mr. Amir and Ms Ahana for their assistance and also the vehicle and its driver . Loved kashmir and gracious hosts. Thank You.

Additionally, I noticed that some of the local services and experiences arranged through your agency were priced at a premium, comparable to rates charged to foreign visitors. It would be advantageous for your agency to establish partnerships with local providers to ensure fair and reasonable pricing for travelers, thus enhancing the value proposition of your packages. Overall, I believe addressing these points would significantly improve the quality of service offered by your agency and enhance the satisfaction of travelers like myself. Booked Kashmir trip through travel triangle. Emaar was the travel agency that arranged our trip. Everything went well finally so nothing to complain. Zainab was the trip agent assigned to us. She was very helpful and accommodating. She was connected with us through-out the trip to check how it is going for us. There were some issues with hotel booking initially but that was sorted. Hotels that were initially selected and quoted for weren't available after a day. Luckily, alternate hotels offered turned out to be good except in Pahalgam. During peak tourist season, it's difficult to trust their words on hotels availability. Need to be a little careful before making advance payment. It was a good experience overall. I would recommend Emaar to anyone planning trip to Kashmir.

I booked an 8 days, 7 nights package of Kashmir with hermosa travels through travel triangle. From the beginning Hermosa representative was very proactive and courteous in her support. Janat from hermosa quickly created the plan and was in constant touch to tweak and improve the itinerary according to the needs of me and my family that includes small kids. She give me over 7-8 different options, multiple hotel choices and she was very helpful in ensuring our needs were met while also suggesting her own improvements based on her local experience. The booking, quotes etc was very smooth. Janat reminded us on time to book the Gulmarg gondola's which are limited. Farah also from Hermosa then ensured our travel was smooth and everything was taken care of. During our trip, we rarely had to call Hermosa for anything as everything was arranged and planned really well. The driver (Iqbal) was amazing and flexible to our needs. He gave good suggestions and ensured we did not fall into the trap of guides or other tourist frenzies in each location. Overall the complete experience with Hermosa was amazing starting with booking, hotels, cab to the arrangements at the hotels as well. Good Hotel selection. Farah is very good travel advisor. Driver Imtiyaz was good. There were issues with food in hotel but we managed it. Houseboat was very neat and clean. Food at houseboat was delicious.Thank you Farah for making trip wonderful. I will surely recommend Hermosa tours (operated by Farah) for Kashmir. Horse ride in Pahelgam, Gondola ride in Gulmarg and house boat in Nigeen lake.
