How To Reach Colombo From Bangalore

Bandaranaike International Airport receives 3 Bangalore to Colombo flights every day. From the airport, the city centre is around 35 minutes’ drive away. Taxis are the best option to avail unless you have a rented or hired car. Here is how you can travel between Bangalore and Colombo by air, road, rail or sea.

By Air:  There are two Bangalore to Colombo Sri Lankan airlines flight everyday of the week, one leaving at 3:35 am and another at 9:05pm. The third daily flight between the cities is run by IndiGo Airlines, at 5:35pm everyday. These Bangalore to Colombo cheap flights take 1 hour and 35 minutes to travel. Getting tickets for these flights should not be a problem unless it is peak season of tourism, in which case you can always take a connecting flight via any other city, like Chennai, Mumbai or Hyderabad.

By Road/Rail: Within the city, bus service is pretty efficient. Bastian Mawatha bus terminal is where long distance buses arrive and depart. But there is no rail or road connectivity from Bangalore to Colombo.

By Sea: Bangalore is not a port city, travelling by sea is not an option.
