About Lau Pa Sat in Singapore

The Lau Pa Sat, also called Telok Ayer Market is a historic building which is located in the central area of Singapore, more particularly within its downtown core. In the present times, it is a food center. There are a number of shops inside the Lau Pa Sat Market which happens to be a home to many shops and stores. The evenings are enlightened with live band, plays on the stage in the middle of the market every weekend. The origin of the Lau Pa Sat comes from the Chinese language in which it means old market.

The Lau Pa Sat Market, Singapore is one of the oldest Victorian design structures in the entire South-East Asia and not only this, it also happens to be the first structure which was built using pre-fabricated iron in Asia. Presently, it is the only remaining market that serves the residence of the central district of Early Singapore. The Lau Pa Sat is basically situated in the heart of the financial district and has been designed as per the vision of the British architect George Coleman, who was also the designer of many of the colonial buildings of Singapore. The market here has been converted into a Hawker Center in the present times. The Lau Pa Sat Hawker Center offers the best of the local cuisine of Singapore that satisfies the taste buds of those who wish to still take the traditional cuisines ahead. This lovely food court serves a lot of dishes that satisfy the appetite of the guests. I had booked the hote by myself and had taken tour sevices from TravelTraingle. I am happy with everything except the cab services offered. It is not flexible at all for ex I asked change in airport drop one week in advance but it was accommodated and askwd to pay more than taxi fare for the same. Also couple of drivers we got were driving too fast, more than the speed limits

Tour was good but we faced problems at some places. There was a timing issue as we were picked/dropped with a gap of 2-2 hours from the actual time. At MBS my child was enrolled as infant which was incorrect and I had to purchase ticket on the spot. I was charged 5000 extra for last day cab after finalyzing the package amount. Cruise experience was good.
