An internationally renowned beach town with three adjacent crescent beaches, Kovalam has been a favorite haunt of tourists since the 1930s. It is backed by precipitously mounting headlands and covered by fertile coconut palms. Kovalam is known not only for its beauty but also for the sports and entertainment activities it offers on the beaches. This place is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, herbal body massages, fire rings, bonfires, and cultural events. Also, Kovalam offers some really delicious and fresh seafood on its menu!

 

If you’re planning to visit the town, you should go through the following information that will assist you on how to reach Kovalam from Alleppey by the different modes of transport available:-

 

Alleppey To Kovalam By Air: The nearest airport to Alleppey is Cochin International Airport (COK) which is at a distance of 83 km. You can take a flight from COK to Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) which takes about 40 to 45 mins. Air India and IndiGo provide travelers with daily flights. Once you reach TRV, you can hire a cab to get to Kovalam 14 km away.

 

Alleppey To Kovalam By Train: The nearest railway station to Kovalam is Trivandrum Central Railway Station which is located 12.6 km away from Kovalam. You can board any train from Alappuzha Railway Station towards Trivandrum, some of the most common being Trivandrum Express, Maveli Express, and Ernad Express, and then take a cab, taxi or an auto rickshaw to reach Kovalam.

Alleppey To Kovalam By Road: The distance between Alleppey and Kovalam is 159 km. You can opt to self-drive or hire a cab. It takes about 4 to 4.5 hours on a road journey to reach Kovalam from Alleppey. Also, there are a number of private operators providing bus transportation services to and from Kovalam.
