Best Places To Visit In Udaipur

The glistening Lake Pichola, the opulent City Palace and the surrounding range of the Aravali make Udaipur a traveler’s dream. Besides these, there are several places to visit in Udaipur like stunning Havelis, palaces and colorful bazaars that are fun to explore. Whether you are traveling solo, with family or with friends, Udaipur’s natural charm will mesmerize you.

Famous places to visit near Udaipur include Ranakpur Jain Temple, Jaisamand Lake, Eklingji Temple, and Kumbhalgarh Fort. Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary is also among the popular places near Udaipur within 100 km. Natraj Dining Hall, Upre, Ambrai, Parkview Restaurant, and Lal Bagh are the top places to eat in Udaipur. The best time to visit Udaipur is in the last week of December when the Shilpgram festival is held. Mewar Festival is also another ideal time to visit Udaipur.

You can kickstart a tour in this city by visiting one of the most famous places in Udaipur, the shimmering Lake Pichola. Go on a boat ride and enjoy the enchanting beauty of the surrounding hills,  gardens, elevated palaces and old Havelis. World-famous authors like Rudyard Kipling have also mentioned this lake saying, "If the Venetian owned the Pichola Lake, he might say with justice, 'see it and die' ".

Travel a little further north of Lake Pichola, and you will come across the artificial Fateh Sagar Lake. Explore the three different islands on this lake and enjoy a fun sightseeing tour of the gardens, zoo, and hills. Devour a quick meal at a restaurant and visit the renowned Udaipur Solar Observatory.

If the beauty of Lake Pichola left you speechless, another Udaipur tourist attraction is the Lake Palace that is situated on the lake itself.  Take in the elegant beauty of the pillared terraces, the pink stonework, cusped arches and the painted mirrors of this fairytale palace.

Another fairytale-like castle you should visit on an Udaipur sightseeing tour is the City Palace.  The colorful Rajasthani and Mughal architectural style of the Palace will leave you spellbound. Make sure you check out the vast collection of royal artifacts at the crystal gallery in this Palace.

After exploring various lakes and palaces, relax amidst the lush green gardens of Saheliyo Ki Bari and Doodh Talai Musical Garden. The romantic ambiance of these gardens is what makes them must-visit tourist places in Udaipur .  These gardens look even more beautiful when it rains as the water pools, fountains, and kiosks come alive.

Apart from these natural wonders, there are man-made wonders like Kumbhalgarh Fort and the Monsoon Palace. The Kumbhalgarh Fort, in fact, has a wall that is 38-km long and is the considered the second longest wall after the Great Wall of China.

The Vintage Car Museum is where you can see what the Maharanas of Mewar rode in. Then there is the crafts fair at Shilpgram where you can get a flavor of the local Rajasthani culture. Each hut here showcases the traditional architecture of this lake town, and you can pick up a number of local souvenirs from here.

Other Udaipur tourist attractions you should check out are the Gulab Bagh and Zoo, the Maharana Pratap Memorial, Jagmandir, Bagore ki Haveli, Bada Mahal, Nehru Garden and Nathdwara. Enjoy a fulfilling and enriching trip in this ‘Venice of the East’ by visiting these Udaipur tour places and have the holiday of a lifetime.

Beautiful experience. Best thing about Ganesham Tours is their knowledge of locations in Rajasthan. Saurabh from Ganesham helped me improving my itenary by adding few places that I didn't even hear from any other agent. His response on my request for changes in hotels was very swift and smooth. Overall Bravo!! to you, your team and your work Ganesham.

S's 3 days trip to Udaipur

Overall it was a good trip.. but the thing is that... You guys should not include places.. which are closed.. for example.. Nehru park/ photo booth is closed for the past 1.5 years.. how you guys are not updated about this thing that it has been already closed... Also if certain places are closed in Sunday or certain days.. ideally the driver or the travel agent should inform us previously that these places will be closed on this day.. so kindly cover these all in the other day... How you guys are not keeping a check on these things? @traveltoexploreprivat please keep in mind these things before making an itenary for your customers.. other than that.. driver was very humble n our agent Naveen was also very co-operative Cultural program in Bagore ki haveli in Udaipur and visit to delwara Jain temple in mount Abu!

Aamir's 4 days trip to Udaipur

Trip had been superb for us, we were celebrating our first anniversary and things were so well co-ordinated by Mr. Neeraj. A little disappointment from Hotel Raghuvantra as they don't serve non-veg may be its very new property and people don't know much about it. Rest all things made our trip very delightful. In four days so much of sight seeing by Mr. Bhanu, he is most courteous person i have ever met, took care of each and every small things in this trip. I wish we had few more days to stay.. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) Must see Kumbhalgarh fort lgiht and sound show, Folk art gallery & Aquarium in Udaipur, gurushikhar temple in mount abu. Special thanks to Mr. Neeraj and Mr. Bhanu.

Parvez's 6 days trip to Udaipur

For a family trip to Udaipur & Mt Abu in Oct 2017, I chose Holiday Season based on the excellent reviews they have had. I must say they lived up to their reputation ! Mr Raj, especially, has been extremely flexible and helpful, even in case when we had to reschedule a day last minute. The hotels and travel arrangements provided were equally good especially Vishnupriya and Janak Niwas in Udaipur. Will heartily recommend Holiday Season and services of Mr Raj to anyone travelling with family for well-planned, reasonably priced and comfortable trip ! Parvez A M Mumbai
