About Dwarka Tourism

Also known as the ‘Home of Lord Krishna’, Dwarka tourism is all about treating your religious outlook with sheer devotion.

The legends signify the establishment of one of the 12 Jyotirlingas here at Dwarka henceforth which the place has been celebrated as one of the biggest pilgrimage sites in the country. Dwarka Beach is a tranquil stretch of sand where the Gomti River flows into the Arabian Sea. Dwarka Lighthouse on the beach remains a popular attraction on a Dwarka tour guide. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, Dwarkadhish Temple is one of the four sacred pilgrimages in India and a major tourist attraction in Gujarat.

Tourism in Dwarka unfolds the many religious significance that has been attached to the name itself. The serenity of this place and the holiness in the air has eventually earned the name – Dwarka, meaning a gateway to heaven! According to the mythologies, many believe that the city was once submerged under the water due to certain mishaps. However, recent excavations have given thorough evidence of its validity. Archeological remains found at Bet Dwarka or Dwarka underwater date back to the Late Harappan phase of Indus Valley Civilization.

Situated in Western India, dwarka can be visited  in between the months of October and March as the weather is quite pleasant that time. Considered as a gateway to heaven, thousands of tourists flock here every year. Being well-linked to the major parts of India via air, road and rail networks, people visiting from Delhi can reach here conveniently by boarding a plane to Rajkot, and then taking a road conveyance for Dwarka.

Besides, the other religious attraction worth mentioning would be Gita Temple and the Rukmani Temple which accepts prayers of all the tourists from all over the world. Dwarka temple timings are from 5 am to 9 pm, and some of the temples remain closed for a few hours in the afternoon. Shuvadeep's 7 days trip to Dwarka

Overall it was a very good trip, we were able to cover most of the places mentioned on the itinerary. Well planned and executed. Somnath and Gir was a very good experience. Dwarka was not that much good due to rush and crowd mismanagement. Transportation : Was very good, driver was very much helpful and understanding. Hotels : Dwarka, Somnath were exceptionally well with good restaurants. i would rate 4/5 for those places. Resort in Gir was not so good compared to other two places, ambience was great but room , pool were not so good. i would rate 2/5 due to cleanliness issues and restaurant not taking any orders was just having common buffet. Staff were helpful in all places, would rate 4/5.

Abhishekdudwadkar's 5 days trip to Dwarka

Had a good experience for sightseeing areas of Gujarat and found it extra convenient and comfortable in Kia Carens. Driver was also good.. And special thanks to Payal madam for helping out in making itineraries. Hotels and their service were good except Shlok In where food service was not satisfactory otherwise it was nice. Just few suggestions it would be good if we can get an ordered list of places as per route with their timings. Because many places had their timings. Also, one will get an idea where to reach on which time and how much time to spend on particular spot.
