About Chamarel In Mauritius

The Mauritian Island is famous for luring its visitors to the unbelievable beauty of the Chamarel on its western coast.

The enticing charm of Chamarel seven colored Earth dyeing the soil is indeed a sight no one wants to miss in the lap of the pious nature. A living silhouette of the rainbow sticking down the feet is what pulls the tourists from around the world to come, explore the seven colored earths of Mauritius and return back with the most ravishing memories of an extraordinary landscape.

The visitors are also hypnotized by the rippling sound of mighty Chamarel Waterfalls flowing down the huge rocks and unlevelled land, each of which has millions of mythologies attached. Hence, the cascading Chamarel Waterfall in Mauritius coupled with the beauty of the rainbow-colored sand dunes is indeed a sight no one wants to miss.

The Terres de 7 Couleurs “The Terres de 7 Couleurs” or the Chamarel 7 colored earth is known for flaunting the charming shades of red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow. The wonderland stretching up to 4 kilometers in length has been a result of spontaneous chemical reactions below the mantle of the earth. These have been preliminarily identified as "Basalt Gullies", which has with time converted into soil.

The most striking feature of the sand dunes of Chamarel Mauritius is that even if the colors are churned and mixed, they are known to separate from each other. A few meters away from the pristine layers resides a reserve park where the visitors can get a glimpse of gigantic tortoises.

Visit Chamarel Falls

Not just the destination, the route leading to the seven colored earth is praised like the walkway to heaven. With lush green landscape peeping through the sky scaling mountains, the beauty of the scenery is accentuated by the ruffling waters of Chamarel Falls flowing down the mighty rocks.

Hiking Trip at Black Gorges National Park

A perfect spot to enjoy activities such as hiking, swimming, birding, and rock climbing, this national park is about 37 km from Port Louis. Home to a varied species of endangered fauna, it is also recognized as the largest national park of Mauritius. Apart from the pink pigeon and the Mauritian Kestrel, the park reserves numerous red deer and roe deer. Besides the flying foxes and wild boars, even the Macaques and butterflies feel safe to reside in the lap of protected nature.

Explore the History of Rhumerie de Chamarel

Amidst the mighty mountains of Chamarel, the distillery of Rhumerie de Chamarel is specifically praised for sugarcane cultivation. A stroll down its factory and an attached museum, also acknowledges the visitors with the various eco-friendly procedures of the production of rum.

Shrija's 7 days trip to Mauritius

The trip was well organized. We did not face any delays/issues.

Darshan's 5 days trip to Mauritius

The sharing van to travel around was small and cramped up. A mini bus would be preferred if we have to constantly board in it. Also, do not pick up from the other resort just to fill up the seats. It takes additional time to reach 1 destination.

Prathmeshshirsat's 6 days trip to Mauritius

Our recent Mauritius trip was an unforgettable experience, and we’re truly glad we booked it through TravelTriangle and Aga Holiday. We stayed at Tropical Attitude Hotel, which was exceptionally clean, neat, and had a breathtaking sea view that made every morning feel refreshing and peaceful. The hospitality at the hotel was top-notch. Karen, the hotel representative, greeted us with a warm smile and was always available to help with anything we needed. A big shoutout to Patricia, the room attendant, who went above and beyond with room service—she was incredibly polite and made our stay extra comfortable. Dining at Bor Lamer and Taba-J was equally delightful. The food was delicious every single time. Special thanks to Chef Vikash and Sunil, the restaurant server, who ensured that not just the taste but the whole dining experience was perfect. They genuinely cared about our satisfaction and service. The highlight of our trip was the romantic dinner organized by the hotel. It was a magical experience that we’ll always cherish. Highly recommend this hotel and TravelTriangle for a peaceful and memorable Mauritius holiday!

Anmol's 5 days trip to Mauritius

This was our first vacation as a couple, and TravelTriangle made it memorable for us. With zero hassles, it made every step of the tour seamless. Great property and tours agent connect. It was really special for both of us. Intercontinental is a recommend from our side for any couple who is going to Mauritius (North-West coast). The country is great place to just relax and experience the true beach side calm and peace. This resort has a lagoon which gives the right opportunity for the visitors to explore the scenic beauty of the coast.

Naveen's 5 days trip to Mauritius

Overall a great trip, except for the following: Pickup cab was missing, there was no one with the placard at the airport. One driver even made me load the luggage and then asked me to unload it as he didn't have enough seats. No drinking water bottle provided anywhere - during meals at hotel, transfer cabs and during the tours. Most tours end at 4-5pm and dinner starts at 7pm only, it's important for the hotel to provide some fruits / snacks at the room for full board booking.
